Indian Idol 12 has been under the radar after Kishore Kumar special episode. Legendary singer’s son Amit Kumar revealing that makers asked him to only praise the contestants irrespective of their performance, caused quite a stir. Now netizens have slammed host Aditya Narayan for taking a dig at Amit Kumar and contestant Shanmukhapriya. The show received flak after she performed on Nadeem-Shravan's song in romance special episode graced by Kumar Sanu, Anuradha Paudwal and Roopkumar Rathod. Audiences were angry with her style of singing and called her out for ruining the songs.

Netizens want Shanmukhapriya eliminated, one of the netizens tweeted, “Shanmukpriya should be eliminated , worse singing.” Another user blamed her for changing the tune of the song, asking the makers to eliminate her, “She changed the actual tune of the song and it was pathetic! She should be out asap.” Another Twitter user mentioned that he had to listen to the original song, after listening to her song, “I had to listen to original humko sirf tumse pyar hai & tu pyar hai again to get these out of my system. Just ask the contestants to compose and sing their own songs and nt ruin the amazing songs.”

In recent times, host Aditya Narayan had stated that just because Indian Premier League came to an end, avid cricket lovers are venting out their anger on the show. He said, “I think do-teen hafte pehle IPL band hogaya. Uska saara gussa humpe nikal rahe hain (IPL ended two three weeks back. They are venting out that frustration on us.) Mummy papas have taken over the remote and they are watching Indian Idol.”
